Animals have been the most sculpted subject after the human figure for as long as people have carved anything, and the reason is practical: an animal reads instantly from any distance and in any light. You do not need to work out what you are looking at. That makes an animal sculpture the most reliable focal point you can put in a garden or a large room.

The collection runs across every material we work in and that changes the character completely. Cast bronze gives you the traditional treatment, patinated by hand and made for permanent outdoor display. Fibreglass allows scale and bold colour that bronze cannot reach, which is where the contemporary and pop-art pieces sit. Marble and stone hold the classical animals. Scale is where the decision really sits. Nearly half the collection stands over 160cm, because an animal at life size reads as a presence in a way a scaled-down version never does, and roughly half is rated for outdoor display.
