Dog Statues & Sculptures

Dogs divide this collection more sharply than any other subject we make. Half of it is contemporary: mirror-chrome and graffiti-finished figures, balloon forms, geometric faceting, pieces bought for a studio or a hallway. The other half is naturalistic bronze, bought for a garden or as a memorial to a particular animal. Very few subjects carry both traditions convincingly.

Materials follow that split. Fibreglass and mirror-polished stainless steel handle the contemporary work, taking bold colour and reflective finishes that cast metal cannot. Cast bronze does the naturalistic pieces and the memorials, patinated by hand and made for permanent outdoor display.

Breeds and treatments both run wide: sitting and standing dogs, greyhounds and whippets, retrievers, terriers, guardian pairs at gateposts, and the stylised balloon and geometric forms. Memorial pieces are a significant part of what we do here, and they are the one case where a portrait matters more than a scale. If you are commissioning for a particular dog, photographs from several angles make far more difference than the size you choose. Sizes run from 30cm to over 160cm.
