About Our Bird Sculptures
Birds are the only garden subject that can be placed above eye level and look right there. Everything else sits on the ground because that is where the animal would be; a bird belongs on a wall, a post, a branch or a plinth, which makes it the answer when the ground is already full.
Casting is what allows the interesting poses. Wings spread, a heron on one leg, a bird landing with its feet forward: all of those put mass a long way from the point of contact, and bronze is the only material we work in that holds them without a support strut spoiling the line.
The range covers eagles and birds of prey, herons and waders, doves and songbirds, and stylised contemporary forms. Browse the eagles separately in eagle statues, the bronze work in bronze animal sculptures and the wider wild subjects in wildlife sculptures.
Think about what the bird is standing on before you choose the bird. A heron beside water, a dove on a wall, an eagle on a gatepost: each reads correctly because the position is one the animal would actually take. Most of the range is made for permanent outdoor display. See garden statues and animal sculptures and statues.
Every bird sculpture we make is cast or carved to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping. Get in touch to commission a particular species.
FAQs
Which species do you make?
Eagles and birds of prey, herons and waders, doves and songbirds, along with stylised contemporary forms. Other species can be commissioned.
Where should a bird sculpture be placed?
Somewhere the bird would actually stand. A heron beside water, a dove on a wall, an eagle on a gatepost. It is the one garden subject that can go above eye level and look correct there.
Why are the interesting poses cast rather than carved?
Because wings spread, a heron on one leg or a bird landing all put mass far from the point of contact. Bronze holds those without a support strut; stone cannot.
Can they stay outdoors?
Most of the range is made for permanent outdoor display in bronze, marble or metal. Check the individual listing, since a small number of contemporary pieces are interior only.
What should I measure before ordering?
The wingspan as well as the height on any wings-spread piece, since the span is often the wider dimension and it decides whether a position works.
How are they made, and how long do they take?
Every piece is cast or carved by hand to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping.
