Description

An elephant stands head turned, a rosette set at the centre of its carved headpiece. An elaborate headpiece centres upon a rosette, with beading across brow and cheek and a draped cloth behind. The ears are spread and folded and the tusks are short. Beneath is a pedestal banded with lotus lobes, a rosette frieze and a key-fret course. White marble, grey veining drifting through the ears, the flank and the pedestal courses. A single animal on its pedestal is what is priced.

A Headpiece That Has to Line Up

The ornament on this elephant's head is not one thing but three that must agree: a rosette at the centre of the brow, a beaded band running back from it over each cheek, and the fall of the cloth behind. If the rosette sits a few millimetres off centre the whole head looks crooked, because a face gives the eye a symmetry to measure against that a flank does not. So the brow is centre-lined before any ornament is cut, the rosette set out from that line, and the beaded bands stepped off in matching pairs working outward from it - never one side and then the other copied, which is how a drift of half a bead becomes a visible list.

At this height the ornament that repays close looking is well out of reach, and the piece works instead as a silhouette and a mass. That suits a long approach - a drive, a gateway, the far end of a courtyard - where it is read at thirty paces and again at ten. At 220cm the headpiece rosette sits far above the eye, so distance suits it best. It also needs a firm bed: at over six tonnes on a narrow footprint the bearing under it matters more than it would for a squatter piece. White marble with grey veining carries well against brick and dark hedging.

Tall Enough to Need Distance

Twenty-two to twenty-four weeks. Setting out the headpiece rosette and the harness beading together comes first, so the two align across the brow. The pedestal courses are cut, their lobes, rosette frieze and key-fret worked, and the beds dressed flat. The animal comes from its own block: roughed standing, legs as columns, body and the folded ears next. The brow is centre-lined and the headpiece cut from that line outward. The draped cloth and its oval device follow. The trunk is last of the animal. No pinning and no filler occur in the animal, and its pedestal beds dry below. Near 6,214kg for one animal and pedestal, craned apart onto a concrete foundation. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of destination.

  • Sculptures under 50cm — shipped by air freight. Typical delivery 1–2 weeks after production is complete.
  • Sculptures 50cm and above — shipped by sea freight. Typical delivery 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

For larger sculptures where faster delivery is needed, air freight is available at additional cost — contact us before ordering for a quote.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

30-Day Returns

We accept 30-day returns on sculptures in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To start a return, contact us within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer's cost.

Bespoke and custom-commissioned pieces are non-refundable once production has started, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
