Acrylic Sculptures

A freestanding acrylic sculpture does something no opaque material can: it lets you see through the form to whatever is behind it. The piece becomes a lens rather than an obstruction, which means it occupies a position without blocking it, and that is genuinely useful in a room where floor space is limited.

Light does the rest. Cast acrylic carries colour inside its body, so a tinted form glows along its cut edges and the intensity changes with the angle you view it from. Set one where daylight or a directional lamp can reach it and the piece animates; put it in a shadowed corner and it goes quiet.
