Wildlife Sculptures

Wild animals are sculpted differently from domestic ones, and the reason is behaviour. A dog or a cat is shown at rest because that is how we see them; a stag, a heron or a big cat is shown alert, mid-stride or about to move, because that is the only way most people ever encounter them. Tension is the subject.

That makes anatomy matter more than with almost anything else we make. A stag's weight has to sit correctly through four thin legs, a bird's wings have to look capable of lifting it, and a big cat's shoulder has to read as muscle rather than volume. Cast bronze does most of the work for that reason, with marble and fibreglass behind it.

Deer and stags are the largest group, followed by birds, big cats, bears and hares. Browse the wider subject in animal sculptures and statues, the bronze work in bronze animal sculptures and the bears in bear sculptures.

Most of the collection is made for outdoors, and wildlife suits a planted setting better than an open lawn, since these are animals seen at the edge of woodland rather than in the middle of a field. A stag half-glimpsed through planting does considerably more than one standing in the open. See garden statues and life size and large statues.

Every wildlife sculpture we make is cast, carved or moulded to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping. Get in touch to commission a particular species or pose.
