Multi-Colour Iridescent Slender Column Acrylic Display Plinth - 120cm $2,11400
Description

This display plinth is a slender square column of acrylic sheet with an iridescent film, hollow, with a flat top sized for one small piece. Its faces run blue and violet near the top and deepen to magenta with bands of red further down, and the foot clears to a pale, almost colourless sheen. Every long edge reads as a bright line from top to bottom, which draws the column up and keeps it narrow to the eye.

A Narrow Column of Blue, Violet and Magenta

A column this narrow lives or dies by its edges. With four faces close together, the corners are always in view, so each one has to run dead straight from foot to top and meet its neighbour square, since any wander would show along the whole height. The film turns that precision into colour: each face changes with the angle it is seen from, and because the faces are narrow, one step to the side moves the whole column from blue towards magenta. The top is kept plain and level so that the piece on it is what stops the eye.

Rising 120cm, it brings a small object up to chest height, where a standing visitor meets it without bending, so it suits an entrance, a gallery wall or the corner beside a door. Its narrow footprint lets it stand where a broad plinth would block the way. Give it a hard, level floor and a light from above and to one side, and set it a little away from the wall so the film has room to change.

Column Height, Film Range and a Careful Lift

Give it 3–4 weeks as a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks as a bespoke commission. On commission the column can be drawn at another height or on a broader square, the film chosen in a warmer or a cooler range, or the sheet left plain and clear. Two or three columns at stepped heights make a set for a run of small objects, each one ordered separately. Lift it upright with both hands low on two opposite faces, keep it vertical while it is moved, and never take it by the edges of the top. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A narrow film-faced column that runs from blue through violet to magenta belongs with our art furniture, our acrylic sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
