Description

A dog sits upright with a pair of feathered wings raised and spread behind it. The head is lifted and turned up, the ears hang long and the mouth is open. A pair of feathered wings rises and spreads behind, each cut in soft overlapping rows. The coat is cut in long flowing locks down the chest and along the tail, which curls out across the base behind. It sits on a shaped base carved as low rocky ground. Marble in a cool pale grey-white, matte and even, without strong veining anywhere.

Where the Coat Meets the Feathers

This piece asks for two quite different textures to sit against each other without either spoiling the other. The coat is cut as long flowing locks, deep and soft-edged, running with the body. The wings are rows of overlapping feathers, shallower, crisper and running across it. Where the two meet at the shoulder there is a real risk that they blur into a general roughness and the animal loses both its dog and its wings at once. So the boundary is decided on the block before either texture is begun - marked as a line, not discovered as the carving proceeds - and the two are cut in separate campaigns with the frontier left slightly proud until both are finished, then brought down last so the locks end and the feathers begin at a clean edge.

A dog with a pair of angel's wings is not a mythological beast; it is a memorial, and it is almost always bought for one particular animal. That is worth saying plainly, because it governs where it goes. At 120cm the head sits at waist to chest height, close enough to be met kneeling. A quiet corner of a garden, the end of a walk, beneath a tree, beside a bench, a spot the animal used - somewhere private rather than somewhere prominent. At 1,008kg it is the lightest piece in this tranche and the easiest to place, and it needs no more than a prepared pad beneath it. The upward-turned head reads best from slightly to one side rather than square on.

A Piece Made for Remembrance

Fourteen to sixteen weeks. Choosing where the coat locks break against the feather rows comes first, so the two textures do not blur. The rocky base is blocked, the animal roughed sitting upon it, and both wings held as thick slabs behind while the body is brought down. The head is left oversized late because it is turned up and carries the whole expression. The coat locks and the feather rows are then cut in separate campaigns, the boundary between them left proud until both are done and taken down last. The curling tail is freed at the end. Dog, wings and base take no pin and no filler, the wings cut from the same block. Only 1,008kg, the lightest here, gantry-set and bedded onto a prepared footing.   • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of destination.

  • Sculptures under 50cm — shipped by air freight. Typical delivery 1–2 weeks after production is complete.
  • Sculptures 50cm and above — shipped by sea freight. Typical delivery 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

For larger sculptures where faster delivery is needed, air freight is available at additional cost — contact us before ordering for a quote.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

30-Day Returns

We accept 30-day returns on sculptures in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To start a return, contact us within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer's cost.

Bespoke and custom-commissioned pieces are non-refundable once production has started, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
