What is a bronze sculpture?

A bronze sculpture is a three-dimensional artwork cast in solid bronze, a copper-tin alloy that has been used for sculpture since around 3,000 BC. Modern bronze sculptures are produced using lost-wax casting, where a wax model is encased in ceramic, the wax melted out, and molten bronze poured into the mould. The result is a piece that is structurally permanent and develops a unique surface patina over time.

How are your bronze sculptures made?

Every piece in our collection is cast in solid bronze using traditional lost-wax casting. We design from our Birmingham studio in England, and produce in our worldwide studios. The casting process produces a structurally solid bronze form which is then hand-patinated, polished, and assembled before shipping. Pieces are made to order, with standard production typically taking approximately three to four weeks.

Is this solid bronze, or bronze finish?

All our sculptures are solid cast bronze, not resin coated in bronze paint, not bronze-effect plastic, not bronze-coloured fibreglass. The bronze itself is the structural material. You can verify this from the weight (bronze is approximately three times the density of resin) and from the cold metallic feel versus the warmer touch of polymer.

How do I care for a bronze sculpture?

Indoors, occasional dusting with a soft dry cloth is sufficient. Outdoors, the bronze develops a natural patina over time which is desirable and should not be removed. To maintain a specific finish, a yearly wipe with a microfibre cloth and occasional treatment with renaissance wax (available from conservation suppliers) keeps the surface protected. Avoid abrasive cleaners and acidic solutions.

Can I commission a bespoke bronze piece?

Yes. Full bespoke commissions are available across the entire collection, including custom sculptures from photographs, scale modifications of existing pieces, custom patinas, memorial dedications, and entirely new designs.
