The Monumental Interlocking Whale Tails Bronze Sculpture stands five metres tall, two great flukes rising symmetrically from a shared base, curving outward and upward until their tips arch apart to form a sweeping natural gateway. The negative space between the tails frames sky, horizon, and landscape in equal measure, shifting with every step the viewer takes around it.
Each sculpture is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, a process that preserves the precise geometry of the interlocking forms and the clean, smooth curvature of each fluke. The surface is hand-finished to a deep black patina, delivering a near-uniform tone across the entire five-metre height that reads as both dramatic and restrained. The result is a monumental bronze sculpture with an architectural quality: no decorative ornament, no visual noise, just the force of the form itself.
At this scale and weight, the sculpture is designed for permanent landscape installation. It suits large private estates, coastal gardens, corporate grounds, sculpture parks, and civic open spaces. The arch form interacts powerfully with open sky and broad horizons; set against a treeline, a water feature, or a low ridge, it becomes a focal point visible from considerable distance. The dark patina holds its character in all weathers and develops a subtle warmth over time without compromising the visual silhouette.
The black patina shown is our recommended finish for this composition, but we can apply a traditional mid-tone bronze, a verdigris green, or a custom aged finish to suit your setting. Scale modifications are available for sites requiring a reduced or enlarged footprint. For projects inspired by the work of specific sculptors or with precise installation briefs, our studio team will work directly with your landscape architect or project manager. Contact us before ordering to discuss site requirements, foundation specifications, and lifting logistics for a piece of this scale and weight.
