About Our Bronze Elephant Statues
The elephant in bronze carries cultural weight that spans Asia, Africa and the Western world, symbol of strength, memory, wisdom and good fortune across centuries of sculptural tradition. Our bronze elephant statue collection brings these traditions into solid cast bronze for hospitality, civic and private estate installations worldwide, with every piece handcrafted, made to order, custom sizes available, and produced in our worldwide studios.
The collection includes trunk raised celebratory poses (traditionally associated with good fortune), walking studies, family groupings with calves, single matriarchal figures, and monumental life size pieces over 200cm tall. Both African and Asian elephant species are sculpted with anatomical accuracy. Closely related collections include the full bronze animal sculpture range, large bronze sculptures for grand garden focal points, and life size bronze statues at the monumental end.
Cast in solid bronze with traditional brown, weathered green, gilded gold or contemporary black patinas. Designed in Birmingham, England and made in our worldwide studios, shipped worldwide free of charge, lifetime guaranteed. Bespoke commissions available for hospitality, civic and private estate installations.
FAQs
African or Asian elephant?
Both species are available, sculpted with anatomical accuracy. African elephants are larger with bigger ears (matching the African continent shape) and both genders have tusks. Asian elephants are smaller with smaller ears (matching India's shape), and typically only males have tusks. Specify at order.
Is trunk position culturally significant?
Yes. In some Asian traditions, trunk-up (raised trunk) symbolises good fortune and welcome, while trunk-down represents stability and grounding. Both poses are available across the collection. Most clients specify based on cultural preference or aesthetic intent rather than feng shui.
What is the heaviest elephant sculpture you have shipped?
A life-size African elephant we shipped to a private client in California weighed approximately 1,800kg and was 320cm tall. The shipment involved multi-section casting, international freight, and on-site crane assembly, all coordinated by our logistics team.
Are bronze elephants suitable for outdoor display?
Yes. Fully weatherproof in all climates. The natural patina deepens with outdoor exposure. Larger life-size pieces are typically placed on landscaped bases (stone foundations, integrated platforms) rather than directly on lawn or paving.
Can I commission a custom elephant?
Yes. Bespoke elephant commissions include specific scale variations, family groupings (cow with calves), trumpeting poses, walking studies, and decorative caparison (ceremonial blankets, howdahs). Lead time 12 to 14 weeks.
