This acrylic sculpture is made from thin blue plates set in two fans, each fan overlapping like a hand of cards spread wide. The fans cross at the foot, part, and curve up round a tall rounded opening to two tips that lean in towards each other and stop short of meeting at the top. Seen square on, the plate ends trace one clean circle with the opening standing inside it. Blue gathers where the two fans overlap at the crossing and fades through the sides until the tips are almost colourless. No base comes with it: the piece rests on the two rounded lobes at its foot.
The geometry does the work here, and the colour follows it. Every plate is flat and plain; the curves come only from the small turn between one plate and the next, so the spacing must stay even from one end of a fan to the other, or the smooth inner edge breaks into steps. Where the two fans cross, their plates lie over one another at opposing angles, and that overlap is what doubles the blue at the foot and draws a lattice of fine lines there. Higher up the plates part, the colour thins and each edge catches the light as a pale line, so the tips read as drawn rather than solid.
Its depth is slight and it is made to be seen face on, so a console, a credenza or a cabinet top against a wall suits it better than the middle of a table. Backlight from a window or a lamp turns the crossing a deep, clear blue and reduces the tips to faint pencil lines; lit only from the front it reads as a pale fan. A cool or white wall keeps the blue clean, where a warm one dulls it towards grey.
Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. On commission the number of plates, the angle at which the two fans cross and how wide the opening stands can each be redrawn for the order, and the tint can be changed from this blue to amber or green, a smoky grey or plain clear plate. Lift it upright with one hand flat beneath the crossing and the other steadying a side, and never take its weight by a tip or by the plate ends round the outside, which are the edges most easily chipped. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Blue plates fanned into a crossed and open loop lead on to our geometric sculptures, our acrylic sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
