The Monumental Surrealist Elephant and Trumpeting Rider Bronze Sculpture stands six metres tall, a commanding public-scale work combining a striding elephant on impossibly elongated spindly legs with a gilded figure leaning forward mid-run, trumpet raised, drapery flowing behind. At 1,000 kg, this is a piece that commands plazas, corporate forecourts, and institutional grounds with absolute authority.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this sculpture achieves two entirely distinct surface identities within a single unified form. The antique verdigris bronze elephant body carries a deep green-brown oxidised patina, applied by hand and sealed to weather with integrity over decades. The rider above contrasts sharply: burnished to a warm polished gold bronze finish, catching light dynamically as it shifts through the day. The ornate saddle blanket between them introduces a third register of reddish-brown and gold trim detail, with hanging tassels that read as fine craft even at monumental scale. This multi-finish bronze casting technique demands exceptional skill from our finishing team and cannot be replicated through industrial production.
Designed for permanent outdoor installation, this sculpture suits grand civic settings: wide paved plazas, hotel arrival courts, museum gardens, or the grounds of corporate headquarters. The warm gold-and-verdigris palette works against both pale limestone architecture and dark contemporary steel-and-glass facades. Its surrealist visual logic, the stretched legs defying gravity while the rider surges forward with purpose, creates an immediate focal point that draws viewers from a distance and rewards close inspection equally.
The dual-patina finish shown here reflects our standard specification, but we can produce this piece in a full verdigris, a uniform dark antique brown, or a warm natural bronze. Scale variations are available for clients who require a smaller landmark version or an even larger installation. The surrealist elongated-leg elephant form is also available in bespoke groupings or with custom rider figures inspired by the work of Salvador Dalí. Contact us before ordering to discuss placement logistics, foundation requirements, and finishing options for your specific site.
