Life Size Bronze Statues

At life size and above, bronze stops competing with other materials and starts being the only realistic option. Fibreglass at four metres cannot stand outdoors permanently, marble at that scale becomes structurally awkward and immensely heavy, and cast stone will not hold a raised limb at all. Bronze does all three.

The strength is what buys the scale. A rearing horse or a striding figure carries several hundred kilos through one or two contact points, and only cast bronze has the tensile strength to do that without a prop that spoils the piece. Everything here is cast, chased and patinated by hand and made for permanent exterior display.

At this scale, access decides more than design. Measure gates, paths, turning circles and whether a vehicle can reach the position, since delivery is to a kerbside or accessible ground-floor point rather than placed and installed.
