The Large Traditional Pelican in Flight Bronze Sculpture, standing at a commanding 300cm, is a monumental study in avian power and grace. Wings fully extended in a dramatic ascending pose, neck thrust forward and bill pointing outward, this piece captures the pelican at the precise moment of powerful upward motion.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax process, this large bronze pelican sculpture achieves a level of surface fidelity that only direct metal casting can produce. Each primary feather, secondary covert, and tail plume is rendered individually across the full wingspan, with crisp undercutting that catches light and shadow at every angle. The warm brown patina, deepening to richer tones in the recessed feather detail and lifting to reddish-golden highlights across the broad upper wing surfaces, is applied and hand-finished by our studio craftspeople. The result is a surface that reads as both anatomically precise and sculpturally vivid. The naturalistic bronze base, formed as an organic rock or terrain element, grounds the piece without interrupting the sense of lift and forward momentum in the body above.
At 300cm in height with a wingspan to match, this monumental bird sculpture in bronze is suited to large-scale exterior settings: formal gardens, civic plazas, waterside landscaping, hotel forecourts, and estate grounds. The traditional warm patina holds its own against open sky, mature planting, and pale stone alike. Equally, spaces with sufficient ceiling height, such as atria, grand entrance halls, or double-height commercial interiors, will carry this piece with authority.
We offer a range of patina finishes beyond the warm brown standard, including verdigris, dark antique, and natural weathering treatments suited to coastal or high-rainfall environments. Scale variants can be commissioned for clients who require a smaller statement piece or a larger site-specific installation. Those with specific brief requirements, including corporate, civic, or private estate commissions inspired by the work of established wildlife sculptors, are welcome to contact us before ordering so we can discuss the scope in full.
