About Our Bronze Eagle Statues
An eagle in flight is a casting problem before it is a sculpture. Two outstretched wings put a wide, thin mass several feet from the body with almost nothing supporting it, and the piece has to hold that for decades outdoors. Stone cannot do it at all, and thinner metals flex. Cast bronze can, which is why the subject belongs to it.
The range covers eagles landing and in flight with wings spread, perched and standing figures, and heads and busts. Wings-spread pieces are the ones most people are looking for, and they are also the ones that need the most thought about position, since the wingspan is often wider than the body is tall.
Eagles work best raised. On a plinth, a gatepost or a wall, a bird reads correctly because that is where you would see one; at ground level it looks stranded. Browse the wider bronze work in bronze animal sculptures and the related wild subjects in wildlife sculptures.
Everything here is cast, chased and patinated by hand and made for permanent outdoor display. Measure the wingspan against the position before ordering rather than the height. See bronze garden statues and animal sculptures and statues for the wider ranges.
Every piece is cast to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping. Get in touch to commission a particular pose or scale.
FAQs
Why are eagles cast rather than carved?
The wings. Two outstretched wings put a wide, thin mass far from the body with little supporting it. Stone cannot hold that at all and thinner metals flex, whereas cast bronze is rigid enough to carry it for decades outdoors.
Where should an eagle be placed?
Raised. On a plinth, gatepost or wall a bird reads correctly, because that is where you would see one. At ground level the same piece looks stranded.
What should I measure before ordering?
The wingspan rather than the height. On a wings-spread piece the span is often wider than the sculpture is tall, and it is the dimension that decides whether a position works.
What poses are available?
Landing and in flight with wings spread, perched and standing figures, and heads and busts. Wings-spread pieces are the most requested.
Can they stay outdoors?
Yes, permanently and without protection. The patina deepens over the years into greens and browns.
How are they made, and how long do they take?
Every piece is cast to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping.
