The Large Contemporary Flying Cranes Bronze Sculpture stands 250cm tall and presents a flock of five to six long-necked wading birds caught at the precise moment of lift-off, wings fully extended at sweeping angles as the group rises from still water. The composition is both arrested and kinetic, a frozen instant of collective motion rendered at civic scale.
Each figure in this large bronze bird sculpture is individually cast using the traditional lost-wax process, which captures the fine detail of primary feathers, extended wingtip tensioning, and the subtle musculature along each bird's neck and body. The surface carries a dark bronze patina with muted grey-green oxidation, applied by hand and sealed to produce the consistent weathered tone visible across all figures. Structural support rods are integrated discreetly into the armature, preserving the illusion that each bird exists independently in flight.
At 250cm and 700kg, this is an installation-grade work suited to open plazas, institutional courtyards, corporate forecourts, hotel water features, and large estate gardens. The reflective pool setting shown in reference images is the natural companion for this piece: the mirror effect doubles the composition downward and amplifies the sense of scale. The dark oxidised finish holds well against stone, pale concrete, and mature planting, and requires no special maintenance beyond an occasional rinse and periodic wax application.
Patina options include natural dark bronze, verde green, warm brown, and a lighter raw satin finish. Scale can be adjusted to suit your site dimensions, and the structural base can be engineered for integration with an existing water feature or supplied as a freestanding ground-mount. If you are working with a landscape architect or installation contractor, contact us before ordering so we can provide technical drawings and fixing specifications. This piece has also been commissioned as an artist-inspired work; we can produce variations inspired by the work of contemporary wildlife sculptors on request.
