The Large Traditional Flying Mallard Ducks Bronze Sculpture stands 180cm tall and presents three mallards captured at the precise moment of take-off, their wings fully spread in a powerful upward sweep, beaks parted, feet trailing behind them as they lift free of the water. The composition stacks all three birds in a vertical ascending arrangement, reading as a single surge of momentum from base to apex.
Each bird is cast individually using the traditional lost-wax process, which preserves the exceptional feather-by-feather surface detail across wings, flanks, and breast. The hand-applied dark brown-black patina is deepened across the primary feathers and body surfaces, with deliberate verdigris oxidation allowed to settle across the wing tips and dorsal plumage, giving the piece the weathered authority of a large outdoor bronze wildlife sculpture that has lived in its landscape. Webbed feet on the lowest figure and the open-beaked expressions of all three birds contribute an immediacy that photograph-based compositions rarely achieve. The flat circular bronze disc base provides a stable platform and reads cleanly against stone, gravel, slate, or the surface of still water.
At 180cm and 300kg, this is a commanding centrepiece for an estate garden, country house grounds, formal water feature, or corporate landscape setting. The scale and subject suit naturalistic plantings, lakeside margins, and paved courtyard environments equally. The verdigris patination will continue to develop with outdoor exposure, deepening the piece's integration into its surroundings over time.
We offer a range of patina finishes beyond the standard dark brown-black with verdigris, including warm mid-brown, satin black, and natural weathered green. The composition can be scaled up or down, or adapted as a bespoke commission inspired by specific reference material. Please contact us before ordering if you require a non-standard finish, revised scale, or have a specific installation environment in mind.
