About Our Bronze Deer Statues
The bronze deer or stag is the quintessential country estate sculpture, equally at home in formal English gardens, Scottish highland settings, American hunting lodges and contemporary residential landscapes. Where stone deer become moss covered and indistinct over decades, bronze deer hold their detail through generations. Our bronze deer and stag statue collection brings this enduring subject into estate gardens and serious private collections worldwide, with every piece handcrafted, made to order, custom sizes available, and produced in our worldwide studios.
The collection includes grazing does, standing studies, antlered stags in alert poses, family groupings with calves, and monumental life size pieces over 180cm tall. Closely related collections include the full bronze animal sculpture range, the wider bronze garden statue collection, and complementary bronze wolf statues for naturalistic woodland compositions.
Every animal is sculpted with species specific anatomical accuracy, with accurate antler structures, correct seasonal coat textures and naturalistic posture, then cast in solid bronze with traditional brown or weathered green patinas suitable for full outdoor display. Designed in Birmingham, England and made in our worldwide studios, shipped worldwide free of charge, backed by a lifetime guarantee.
FAQs
Can you sculpt specific deer species?
Yes. Standard collection pieces include red deer (European stag), white-tail deer (North American), fallow deer (English park traditional), and roe deer. Bespoke commissions can specify other species including sika, mule deer, elk, moose, and caribou, with anatomically accurate antler structures and body proportions.
Are the antlers cast separately?
Most antler structures are cast as part of the main piece, with single-piece casting maintaining structural integrity. Very large antler configurations (monumental red deer stags, elk commissions) may be cast separately and integrated during finishing, but the joint is invisible after patination.
Best placement for a bronze stag?
Open lawns with sight-lines from the house are most effective, as the deer reads as wildlife inhabiting the garden. Woodland-edge placement (where the piece is partially visible through trees) is dramatic. Avoid placing deer too close to buildings, as they need landscape space to register as deer rather than ornament.
What sizes are deer statues available in?
Desk-scale studies (30 to 50cm) through medium standing deer (80 to 120cm) to life-size stags (150 to 180cm at shoulder, including antlers). Monumental commissions (over life-size) for grand estate gardens are produced on request.
Can I have a family grouping (doe and fawns)?
Yes. Multi-deer compositions are popular for larger gardens, typically a stag with two does, or a doe with fawns. Each piece in the grouping is cast individually so they can be positioned organically across the landscape, not fixed to a single base.
