A figurine has to work at arm's length, which is a harder test than it sounds. There is no viewing distance to soften anything, no dramatic lighting, and nothing to hide a rough seam or a lazy finish. These are pieces picked up and turned over, so the making shows in a way it never does on a two-metre sculpture across a room.

This is the smallest-scale collection we make. Half sits between 30cm and 79cm and nearly half is under 30cm, with almost nothing above a metre. Cast resin does most of the work because it holds the fine detail these sizes depend on, finished in chrome, metallic and bold lacquer.

These are entirely interior pieces and they are bought differently from the rest of our range: as gifts, as desk objects, and in groups. Two or three at staggered heights on a shelf reads far better than one alone, and mixing finishes within a group works better than matching them.
