About Our Bronze Wall Art
Cast bronze on a wall is rare, and the reason is cost rather than difficulty. Relief panels use a great deal of metal for their visible area, so most wall art that looks like bronze is a coating over something lighter. Everything here is the real thing, cast and patinated by hand.
What you get for that is a wall piece that behaves like sculpture. The patina deepens across the relief exactly as it does on a freestanding bronze, catching the high points and settling into the recesses, so the panel changes over years rather than staying as delivered.
It is also the only wall art we make that is genuinely suitable for an exterior wall without qualification. Bronze does not corrode, lift or delaminate, so a panel on a south-facing wall or in a courtyard needs nothing done to it. Browse the wider exterior range in outdoor wall art and decor.
This is a small collection, so it is worth browsing alongside metal wall art for the wider metalwork and bronze sculptures for the freestanding equivalents. Fix into masonry with stainless or galvanised fixings rated well above the stated weight, since bronze is considerably heavier than it looks.
Every piece is cast to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping. Get in touch for advice on fixings.
FAQs
Is this solid bronze or a bronze finish?
Solid cast bronze, patinated by hand. Most wall art that looks like bronze is a coating over a lighter substrate, because relief panels use a lot of metal for their visible area. Everything here is the real material.
Can bronze wall art go on an exterior wall?
Yes, without qualification. Bronze does not corrode, lift or delaminate, so a panel on a south-facing wall or in a courtyard needs nothing done to it. It is the only wall art we make of which that is true.
How heavy is it?
Considerably heavier than it looks. Fix into masonry using stainless or galvanised fixings rated well above the stated weight, never plasterboard plugs. Weight is on every product page.
Will the patina change?
Yes, and it is worth knowing that it deepens across the relief rather than evenly, catching the high points and settling into the recesses. The panel will look different in ten years, which is the point.
Why is the collection small?
Cost. Cast bronze relief is expensive for its visible area, so it is a specialist rather than a volume category. Our metal wall art range is far larger and covers the same design language in lighter materials.
How is it made, and how long does it take?
Every piece is cast to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping.
