The Large Classical Crowd of Figures Bronze Relief measures 150cm in height and presents a sweeping narrative composition in high-polished gilt bronze, depicting a dense procession of draped classical figures before a colonnaded rotunda, set within a richly receding architectural cityscape.
This gilt bronze wall relief is produced using the lost-wax casting method, which allows the finest surface detail to be transferred from the original model into the final metal. Each figure, fold of drapery, and architectural column is individually worked by hand after casting, before the surface receives its highly polished gold finish. The result is a uniform, reflective gilt tone with exceptional depth across the composition's multiple planes. Unlike patinated bronze, which develops a muted character over time, this polished gilt relief panel maintains its luminous, gallery-worthy presence and reads as a singular, cohesive artwork at any scale.
Mounted flat to the wall via its integrated dark bronze frame, the piece suits interiors where architecture and materiality are taken seriously: stone-clad entrance halls, panelled drawing rooms, double-height staircases, or formal reception spaces. The gold-on-black palette sits comfortably against dark lacquered walls, pale stone, or warm plaster tones. At 150cm and 120kg, professional installation is advised; we are happy to advise on fixing requirements before despatch.
The default finish is a highly polished gilt gold, but we can apply a range of alternative patinas including aged verde, dark brown, or natural oxidised bronze on request. The panel can also be scaled up or down to suit a specific architectural setting. For clients seeking a commission inspired by the work of Lorenzo Ghiberti, with bespoke scene selection or custom dimensions, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss the scope in full.
