Medium Astronaut Sculptures

Between 80cm and 130cm is the size most astronauts are actually bought at, and the reason is that it works in an ordinary room. A life-size figure needs a hallway, an atrium or a showroom to stand in; at this height the same piece sits beside a sofa, on a hearth or at the turn of a staircase without rearranging anything.

It is also the size where the piece still reads clearly as a figure. The suit detail, the visor seal and the ribbing are all legible at normal room distance, and the helmet still reflects enough to animate. Below this the piece becomes an object on a surface; above it, it becomes an occupant.
