A bear rears onto its hind legs, mouth open, forelegs raised to meet a great eagle descending with wings fully spread in dark patinated bronze. At three metres tall and weighing 1,200 kilograms, this monumental wildlife conflict scene commands any estate garden, parkland, or grand exterior setting with raw, arrested energy. A fish, the contested prize, is locked between the two animals, held at the diagonal axis that drives the entire composition.
This piece is a companion sculpture designed to pair with our Large Traditional Rearing Bear and Eagle Bronze Sculpture - 200cm, sold separately.
Produced by the lost-wax casting method, every surface carries the sculptor's original hand-finish: individual fur strands across the bear's flanks, layered feather detail across the eagle's outstretched wings, and the open musculature of both animals mid-struggle. A dark chemical patina deepens the shadows between textures while warm brown tones emerge on the raised surfaces, lending the finished piece the gravity of a museum-grade work. Structural internal armature supports the cantilevered eagle figure without compromising the form from any viewing angle.
At this scale, the piece is suited exclusively to outdoor placement, open grounds, formal garden axes, entrance drives, or large commercial landscapes where weather exposure and sightlines allow the full three-metre profile to read. The naturalistic rocky base integrates directly into landscape settings without requiring an additional plinth.
Patina finish, overall scale, and compositional modifications are available on request. Bespoke commissions, including custom base design or species variation, are welcomed. Contact us before ordering to discuss your site requirements and confirm logistics for a piece of this weight and dimension.
