About Our Bedroom Art
Bedroom art is seen in two states nothing else has to survive: lying down, and half awake. That rules out a good deal. Anything busy, high-contrast or demanding is wrong here, not because it is bad but because it is the last thing you see at night and the first in the morning, and it needs to be restful at both.
The canonical position is above the bed, and it is the one place where the furniture dictates the width absolutely: aim for around two thirds the width of the bed, centred on it. A common alternative is the wall you face from the pillow, which is often better if the headboard is tall or upholstered. Either way the piece is viewed from lower down than in any other room, so hang slightly lower than instinct suggests.
Material does real work here. Timber and leather absorb sound as well as light, which takes the hardness out of a room with a wooden floor, and illuminated pieces double as low-level light where a lamp would be too bright. Browse those in wood wall art, leather art and LED and neon art.

FAQs
What size art goes above a bed?
Around two thirds the width of the bed, centred on it. For a king size that is roughly 100cm to 120cm of artwork. A single piece generally reads better than a pair unless the wall is unusually wide.
Above the bed or on the facing wall?
Above the bed is the convention, but the wall you face from the pillow is often the better choice, particularly with a tall or upholstered headboard. It is also the wall you actually look at, which is worth more than the wall visitors see.
Is it safe to hang art above a bed?
With the right fixing, yes. Fix into a stud or use anchors rated well above the weight, never plasterboard plugs alone, and avoid heavy or sharply projecting pieces directly overhead. Weight and depth are listed on every product page.
What style suits a bedroom?
The restrained end of the range. Organic forms, Scandinavian and wabi sabi work, and quiet palettes all read as calm. Bold geometry and high contrast tend to be too active for a room whose job is rest.
