About Our Pop Art Sculptures
Pop art took the things everyone already recognised and made them monumental, and that instinct still works. A cartoon bear at two metres, a balloon animal in mirror chrome, a comic figure rendered with the care usually reserved for a classical bust: the joke is the gap between the subject and the treatment, and it lands immediately.
These are the pieces people buy for rooms they actually live in. Where a bronze figure asks for reverence, a pop piece asks for nothing, and that makes it the easiest sculpture to place in a modern interior, a studio, a bar or a childrens space. Nearly nine in ten are made for indoors.
Bears are far and away the largest subject at over four in ten pieces, from graffiti-finished to chrome to sliced and dissected treatments. Beyond them there are astronauts, balloon animals, dogs, gorillas and comic figures. Browse the bears in bear sculptures, the balloon animals in balloon dog sculptures, the space figures in astronaut sculptures and our own range in Iconify sculptures.
Colour is the point, so the range is built around it: bold single tones, chrome and metallic finishes, graffiti and drip treatments, and multi-colour work. Resin and fibreglass do most of the making because they take a sprayed finish better than metal and allow scale without weight. Sizes run from 10cm desk pieces to over 160cm, with the mid sizes around 30cm to 79cm the most popular.
Every pop art sculpture we make is handcrafted to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping. Get in touch if you would like a colour matched or a custom finish.
FAQs
What are pop art sculptures made from?
Mostly resin and fibreglass, finished in sprayed lacquer, chrome or hand-applied graffiti. Those materials take colour far better than cast metal and allow large scale without heavy weight, which is what the style needs.
Can they go outdoors?
Nearly nine in ten are made for interiors. A small number are rated for outdoor or covered use and the product page will say so. Resin and fibreglass with a sprayed finish will fade and chalk in permanent sun and rain.
Can I get a custom colour or finish?
Yes. Because the finish is sprayed rather than moulded in, we can match a specific colour, a chrome or a metallic. Graffiti and hand-painted treatments can also be commissioned to a brief.
What sizes do they come in?
From 10cm desk pieces to over 160cm. The 30cm to 79cm band is the most popular and suits a console, shelf or plinth. The oversized versions are the ones that produce the double-take the style is after.
How do I clean a chrome or gloss finish?
A soft microfibre cloth and warm water, dried straight away. Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, which will dull or craze a lacquer permanently. Treat it as you would a car finish.
How are they made, and how long do they take?
Every piece is handcrafted to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping.
