About Our Bronze Wolf Statues
A wolf is harder to sculpt than it looks, because the thing that separates it from a large dog is not anatomy but bearing. The head carries lower, the stance is squarer, and the animal reads as watchful rather than friendly. A sculptor who gets the proportions right and the attitude wrong produces an alsatian.
This is a small and selective collection. The pieces run across standing and alert wolves, howling figures and prowling poses, cast in bronze and patinated by hand for permanent outdoor display.
Because the range is small, browse it alongside the wider work in bronze animal sculptures, wildlife sculptures and animal sculptures and statues, which cover more species and more materials.
Wolves suit a planted or wooded setting rather than an open lawn, for the same reason deer do: these are animals of the treeline, and a piece half-seen between trunks reads far better than one standing in the middle of a space. See bronze garden statues and garden statues.
Every piece is cast to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping. Get in touch to commission a particular pose, or a piece in a scale we do not list.
FAQs
How large is a life-size wolf?
Around 160cm nose to tail and roughly 80cm at the shoulder for a grey wolf, which is larger than most people expect and closer to a large dog than to a fox.
Where should a wolf sculpture go?
In or near planting rather than open lawn. These are animals of the treeline, and a piece half-seen between trunks reads far better than one standing alone in the middle of a space.
What poses are available?
Standing and alert, howling, and prowling figures. This is a small collection, so other poses and scales are best discussed as a commission.
Can they stay outdoors?
Yes, permanently and without protection. Bronze patinates to green and brown over the years.
Do you make other wild canids?
Foxes appear in our bronze rabbit, fox and fish collection, and other species can be commissioned. Our wildlife range covers a wider spread of subjects.
How are they made, and how long do they take?
Every piece is cast to order by our artists, designed in Birmingham and made in our worldwide studios. Standard production takes around three to four weeks, and we offer free worldwide shipping.
