Classical She-Wolf Nursing Two Infants Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, 85cm cast bronze with dark patina on a rough stone base, side view.
Classical She-Wolf Nursing Two Infants Bronze Sculpture - 85cm $20,17100
Description

The Classical She-Wolf Nursing Two Infants Bronze Sculpture stands 85cm tall, presenting one of Western civilisation's most enduring mythological images in monumental cast bronze. The she-wolf holds a forward-facing profile stance, head turned outward with jaws parted; beneath her, two small infant figures crouch and kneel, one arm raised upward in a gesture of dependence and recognition.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

This sculpture is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, which allows every detail of the composition to transfer faithfully from the original model to the finished bronze. The dark patinated bronze finish is applied by hand after casting, producing the deep brown-black tone visible across the wolf's body and the infants beneath her. Scalloped fur texture runs across the wolf's chest and shoulders, each tuft formed with precision and depth. The hand-finished bronze surface is sealed for long-term stability, resisting weathering without losing the richness of the patina character.

The sculpture rests on a broad, low-profile rough-hewn stone base with a natural rusticated texture, grounding the composition in an earthy, classical register. At 85cm in height and 120kg, this piece carries genuine physical presence. It suits formal entrance halls, vaulted reception rooms, gallery spaces, and sheltered courtyard settings equally well. The dark bronze tones complement stone flooring, pale plaster walls, and aged timber, as well as outdoor paving in natural grey or sandstone.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

Patina options include mid-brown, verde green, aged black, and natural oxidised bronze. The sculpture can be scaled up or down from the standard 85cm height. Bespoke commissions are welcome, including custom plinths and surface treatments inspired by the work of classical sculptors working in the Capitoline tradition. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements and confirm the most suitable finish and scale for your setting.
