The Life-Size Traditional Robed Saint with Wolf and Animal Companions Bronze Sculpture stands 180cm tall and presents a commanding figurative composition of rare warmth and narrative depth. A hooded, rope-belted figure leans gently forward, right palm open in a gesture of welcome, while a large wolf rears up to nuzzle the figure's chest, a smaller fox stands upright at the right side, and a bird with spread wings rests at the feet.
This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, which preserves the extraordinary surface detail of the hand-finished bronze sculpture: the deep folds of the monk's habit, the rope belt, the exposed sandalled feet, and the individual textures of each animal figure. The finish carries a rich dark brown-green patina that reads as naturally weathered, lending immediate authenticity and visual gravity. At 280kg, the mass of the casting is considerable, and the density of the bronze ensures long-term structural stability even in exposed conditions.
The low-profile irregular flagstone plinth arrangement at the base grounds the group naturally, making this life-size garden bronze statue well suited to woodland clearings, formal garden axes, monastery or church grounds, heritage estates, and large private gardens. The dark patina reads beautifully against stone walls, mature hedging, ivy, and moss-covered surfaces. Given the garden-specific plinth and the scale and weight of the piece, this sculpture is intended for outdoor installation.
We offer a range of patina finishes including traditional dark brown, verde green, and light antique gold. The scale of the composition can be adjusted to suit your site, and the group arrangement can be discussed as part of a bespoke commission. This sculpture can also be produced inspired by the work of Saint Francis iconography across European religious sculpture traditions. Contact us before ordering to discuss requirements in detail.
