Timber is the only material on a wall that was alive, and the grain is the record of it. Every board carries a different history of growth, drought and season, which is why two panels cut from the same design are never identical and why wood ages into a room rather than against it.

The work here is carved, cut and assembled rather than printed. Slatted panels build rhythm from repeated battens, sculpted reliefs are shaped and sanded by hand, and parquet and marquetry set tone against tone across a surface. Many pieces pair timber with metal, sandstone or leather so a hard edge sits against a warm one.
