The Classical Winged Cherub Bronze Sculpture stands 120cm tall, presenting a fully realised cupid figure in a gentle contrapposto stance, right arm raised to hold a bird aloft, left arm extended with a wicker-style hanging basket, and a bow slung across the torso on a fabric strap. Large feathered wings spread behind the figure with careful anatomical articulation, while the face tilts downward in a composed, unhurried expression.
This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, which preserves every surface detail from the fine feather striations on the wings to the interwoven texture of the basket and the foliage scatter at the figure's feet. The hand-finished bronze carries a warm mid-brown patina, with subtly darker recesses pulling depth into the folds of the wings and the modelled ground element. The smooth bronze surface finish gives the figure a refined, gallery-grade presence without straying from its classical roots. The oval stepped base features decorative scrollwork and an inscribed nameplate panel, completing the composition with period-appropriate formality.
At 120cm, this sculpture commands attention as a standalone focal point. Indoors, it suits entrance halls, double-height reception spaces, private libraries, and formal sitting rooms where the warm bronze tones complement stone flooring, dark timber, or neutral plaster walls. Outdoors, the sealed bronze finish withstands exposure to the elements, making it equally at home on a stone terrace, a formal garden axis, or a sheltered courtyard setting.
We offer a full range of patina finishes including verde antique, dark brown, and satin gold highlights, as well as rescaling the figure to suit a specific architectural context. If you are looking for a bespoke variant, inspired by the work of classical European sculptors working in the putti tradition, we are happy to discuss your brief in detail. Contact us before ordering to confirm your finish, scale, and any inscription requirements for the base panel.
