About Our Bronze Cat Statues
Cats have been sculpted in bronze for over 4,000 years, beginning with the Egyptian Bastet figures and continuing through classical Roman pieces, Art Deco studies and contemporary domestic cat sculpture. Our bronze cat statue collection spans this entire history within a single catalogue, with every piece handcrafted, made to order, custom sizes available, and produced in our worldwide studios.
The collection includes Egyptian style seated cats (traditional Bastet form with hieroglyphic detailed bases), Art Deco stylised cats (long bodied, geometric, characteristic of 1920s sculptural style), naturalistic breed studies and contemporary abstract cat forms. Closely related collections include complementary bronze dog statues, the full bronze animal sculpture range, and bronze indoor sculptures more broadly for shelf and mantelpiece display.
Sizes range from desk scale (20 to 40cm) to standing floor pieces (60 to 120cm tall). Cast in solid bronze with traditional brown, blackened, gilded or polished patinas. Designed in Birmingham, England and made in our worldwide studios, shipped worldwide free of charge, lifetime guaranteed. Bespoke pet portrait commissions of specific cats available from photographs.
FAQs
Do you offer Egyptian Bastet style cats?
Yes. Egyptian-style seated cats (the classic Bastet form) are one of our most popular cat sculptures. Available with hieroglyphic-detailed bases, gilded gold patinas (suitable for formal display), and traditional brown finishes. Sizes range from desk-scale (30 to 40cm) to over-life-size (80cm+) ceremonial pieces.
Can I commission a portrait of my cat?
Yes. Bronze cat portraits are commissioned from photographs. Specific breed (Persian, Maine Coon, British Shorthair, Siamese, domestic shorthair, etc.) and pose can be specified. Lead time 10 to 14 weeks.
What size desk cat would you recommend?
For most desk and mantelpiece displays, 25 to 35cm is the sweet spot, large enough for presence, small enough to scale with surrounding objects. Egyptian seated cats often work best at 35 to 45cm for the classical proportions to register. Avoid going under 20cm for serious sculptural display.
What patinas suit a bronze cat?
Traditional brown (most versatile), jet black (dramatic, particularly for Bastet figures), gilded gold (formal display, religious or ceremonial contexts), and polished bronze (contemporary settings). Egyptian-style cats traditionally use deep brown-black patinas with selective gilding.
Are these suitable for memorial pieces?
Yes. Cat memorial bronzes, including your specific cat in a characteristic pose with an integrated small dedication plaque, are commissioned regularly. Bronze is the permanent material for memorial work and the piece will outlast generations.
