Traditional Chinese Dragon Head Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures shown in profile with open jaws, curling whiskers, antlers, and warm brown patina.
Traditional Chinese Dragon Head Bronze Sculpture (Arcing Tusks) - 45cm $10,85600
Description

The Traditional Chinese Dragon Head Bronze Sculpture stands 45cm tall and presents one of the most commanding subjects in East Asian iconography with uncompromising detail and monumental presence. Jaws open wide, fangs curling inward and tusks arcing outward, the head is caught mid-roar; elongated whiskers sweep dramatically outward while a flame-and-cloud mane rises in turbulent relief behind the crown.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, which allows the full complexity of the dragon's scaled surface texture, deep eye sockets, and layered mane to be reproduced with precision in solid bronze. After casting, each piece is hand-finished and treated to a warm brown patina, with slightly darker recesses pulling depth from the fine detailing throughout. The result is a surface that reads differently in morning light than it does under evening interior warmth. The visible bronze colouring is consistent across the form, giving the piece coherence whether viewed up close or from a distance.

At 45cm and 25kg, this is a sculpture that demands a considered setting. It suits a wide stone console in a hallway, a dedicated plinth in a reception space, a garden pavilion, or a sheltered courtyard where it can anchor the surrounding architecture. Its iconographic weight makes it equally at home in contemporary interiors that favour strong singular objects as it does in more traditional schemes. Being solid cast bronze, it is fully suitable for both indoor and outdoor placement without any treatment or weathering concern.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We offer a range of patina finishes including aged verdigris, dark espresso, and polished golden bronze. The sculpture can also be scaled up significantly as a multi-element installation, with the partial sphere or dragon pearl present in this composition available as an accompanying cast. If you are considering this piece as part of a larger architectural or landscape commission, or inspired by the work of Liu Ruowang or other masters of monumental Chinese bronze iconography, we welcome a conversation before you place your order. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
