A commanding family grouping cast in dark bronze with warm copper-brown patina, this 90cm bear sculpture places one alert adult alongside three active cubs at her feet. The adult stands open-mouthed, head raised, every strand of fur pressed into the bronze surface with the kind of tactile density that rewards close inspection. The cubs circle and move forward, each in a distinct walking pose, giving the composition restless, living energy across the grass.
This piece is a companion sculpture designed to pair with our Large Traditional Bear Family Bronze Sculpture - 150cm, sold separately.
Each figure is produced using the lost-wax casting method, a technique that preserves the sculptor's original surface detail across the entire family grouping. Hand-finishing brings out the reddish-brown tonal variation in the patina, deepening in the recesses of the fur and lifting to warm copper on the ridges. The result is a surface that shifts with the light through the day. At a combined weight of 60kg, the group anchors to the ground with the gravity the subject demands.
Sized for large gardens, estates, wildlife parks, and country house settings. Place directly onto lawn, gravel, or a prepared stone base to mirror the naturalistic ground-level presentation of the original design.
The patina can be adjusted to a lighter golden-brown, a deep forest-green verdigris, or a raw dark bronze finish. Scale variants are available to suit your site. For large estate commissions or multiple-grouping orders, contact us before ordering to discuss specification in full.
