A monumental rearing horse in cast bronze, standing 650 centimetres tall and weighing five tonnes, this is a commission-grade centrepiece conceived for plazas, estate grounds, and large-scale public art installations. The horse rises onto its hind legs with full anatomical conviction, chest forward, front hooves lifted, mane and tail cast in sweeping strand detail that catches light along every polished ridge. At this scale, the piece does not merely occupy a space; it commands it.
Produced using the lost-wax casting method, the sculpture is built for permanence. Each section is individually cast in bronze, hand-finished, and assembled with structural engineering appropriate to the scale. The warm golden-brown patina deepens into darker tonal recesses across the mane, tail, and rocky base, a finish that will mature gracefully outdoors over decades. Polished high points on the musculature catch direct sunlight and shift with the angle of the day, giving the piece a living quality from any viewing distance. The integrated naturalistic rock base transitions organically into cascading mane strands, grounding the dynamic upward movement with a sense of geological weight.
At 650cm and five metric tonnes, this sculpture is suited to open plaza settings, large forecourts, estate gardens of significant scale, and landmark public commissions. It photographs powerfully against open sky and reads with equal authority from 100 metres as it does up close. Structural installation planning, including foundation engineering and crane logistics, forms part of the commission process and our team will coordinate this fully.
The patina can be specified to your preference, from the warm golden-brown shown here to dark verde, black, or a natural weathered finish. The sculpture can also be produced at reduced scales on request, from monumental down to large garden size. Bespoke commissions incorporating custom poses, personalised detailing, or site-specific proportions are welcome. Contact us before ordering to discuss your project in full.
