The Monumental Classical Saint Michael Archangel Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 300cm, presenting the triumphant archangel in full martial bearing: wings spread wide, spear raised aloft in the right hand, shield braced in the left, and a defeated figure prostrate beneath his feet.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this monumental bronze sculpture achieves a level of anatomical and feather-by-feather surface detail that only hand-finishing can produce. The figure carries an aged verdigris patina across its entire surface, replicating the deep green weathering characteristic of centuries-old ecclesiastical bronze. Every ridge of the armour, every primary feather of the spread wings, and the contorted form of the figure underfoot are resolved with precision and weight. This is large-scale figurative bronze in the truest sense: 900kg of cast metal rendered with conviction and craft.
At 300cm, this sculpture commands monumental civic and architectural spaces. It suits cathedral forecourts, institutional gardens, private estate grounds, grand entrance halls with sufficient ceiling height, and heritage restoration projects. The verdigris patina reads naturally against stone, pale render, and aged brick alike. As a freestanding piece, it is fully suited to both indoor and outdoor installation.
We offer a full range of patina finishes, from this aged verdigris through to warm mid-tone brown, polished natural bronze, and custom antiqued effects. The sculpture can also be produced at an adjusted scale to suit specific architectural requirements. If you are working to a particular installation brief, inspired by the work of Raffaello da Montelupo or the long tradition of archangel iconography in European ecclesiastical bronze, we welcome a conversation before you place your order. Contact us to discuss your commission.
