The Monumental Classical Poseidon Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 450cm, presenting the god of the sea in a dominant upright stance, bare-chested and muscular, his trident raised aloft and his left hand extending outward with a sea turtle cradled in his grip. Rising from a rugged, irregular rocky mound populated with cast bronze fish, octopus tentacles, and a sea turtle, this is a piece of genuine architectural ambition.
Produced using the lost-wax casting process, each element of this sculpture is formed with the precision that only traditional hand-finishing allows. The figure's deeply carved flowing beard, curling hair, wave-spiked crown, and sculpted musculature across the torso and arms are rendered with the clarity of classical bronze statuary. The aged, heavy green verdigris patina is applied by hand, producing a consistent oxidation across the figure and base that reads as genuinely weathered rather than decorative. The result is a monumental bronze sculpture with the surface character of a piece centuries in the making.
At 450cm and 2,000kg, this is a sculpture for grand architectural settings: forecourts, hotel lobbies, civic plazas, private estates, and coastal gardens. The natural stone block base integrates directly with outdoor landscaping or formal interior stone flooring. The verdigris patina reads well against pale stone, dark water features, and mature planting alike. This piece is equally at home indoors under a high atrium ceiling or positioned as a centrepiece in an open-air setting.
We offer a range of patina options beyond the standard verdigris finish, including polished natural bronze, dark brown, and black. Scale adjustments are available for those requiring a different height, and fully bespoke commissions incorporating alternative figures, base configurations, or compositional elements are welcomed. This sculpture has also been realised in forms inspired by the work of Giambologna and other masters of classical maritime iconography. Contact us before ordering to discuss your exact requirements.
