The Monumental Classical Egyptian Sphinx Bronze Sculpture stands 370cm in length and commands space with the full authority of ancient iconography rendered in cast bronze. The recumbent figure combines a lion body with extended forepaws, folded feathered wings, and a human head wearing the pharaoh nemes headdress complete with uraeus cobra and ceremonial chin beard, all resting on a substantial integral bronze plinth.
This piece is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, a process that preserves the depth of every engraved stripe on the nemes cloth, every feather on the folded wings, and every claw rendered across the lion paws. The result is a hand-finished bronze sculpture with a warm brown patina that deepens in the recessed detail areas and lifts to golden-bronze on the raised surfaces, creating the tonal contrast that defines museum-quality cast bronze at monumental scale. The integral plinth shares the same patinated finish and is proportioned to anchor the piece visually without diminishing the figure above it.
At 370cm, this sculpture is suited to grand architectural settings: entrance courts, colonnaded lobbies, formal gardens with stone or gravel surfaces, heritage estates, and institutional forecourts. The warm bronze palette reads well against pale limestone, dark granite, clipped hedging, and rendered render or Portland stone facades. The piece works equally well indoors under high ceilings or outdoors in a sheltered ceremonial setting.
We offer a range of patina finishes including dark verde, statuary brown, black, and oxidised green, all applied and sealed by hand. Scale can be adjusted to suit your specific space, from a reduced interior version through to site-specific enlargements beyond the standard 370cm. For commissions inspired by the work of a particular sculptor or tradition, contact us before ordering so we can advise on feasibility and timeline.
