The Monumental Classical Egyptian Sphinx Bronze Sculpture stands 200cm tall, presenting the iconic recumbent form of the great sphinx: a lion body lying in composed repose, forelegs extended, paws resting with quiet authority, and a serene human face gazing forward beneath the unmistakable nemes headdress. At 1,200kg of solid cast bronze, this is a commanding architectural centrepiece.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, every surface of this piece is worked by hand before and after casting. The dark brown-black bronze patina has been built up with warm golden-bronze highlights that emerge across the raised relief details, creating deep tonal contrast that reads as genuinely aged. The nemes headdress carries individually worked striped relief, the broad collar and pectoral ornament is rendered with geometric and beaded patterning, and each lion paw retains individually defined toes. The integral plinth continues the same standard of finish, its repeating arched relief panels and horizontal banding drawn directly from Egyptian pharaonic architectural motifs. This is monumental bronze casting executed to a gallery and civic standard throughout.
Suited to grand entrance halls, reception atriums, formal courtyards, hotel lobbies, museum spaces, and large-scale landscaped gardens. The dark patina pairs well with stone flooring, rendered render or ashlar walls, and formal planting schemes. It reads equally well against pale interiors as a focal anchor. Placement suitability is both indoors and outdoors; the bronze alloy and hand-applied patina are stable across external climates with no structural compromise.
We offer alternative patina options including mid-tone warm bronze, verdigris green, and polished natural bronze. The scale can be adjusted to suit your specific site; reduced versions for interior niches or enlarged configurations for civic or landscape installation are both achievable. If you are considering a commission inspired by the work of classical Egyptian revival sculptors, or wish to discuss a site-specific adaptation, contact us before ordering so we can scope the project accurately.
