The Monumental Classical Cupid Archer Bronze Sculpture stands 280 centimetres tall, presenting a winged Eros caught at the precise moment of release: body twisting with athletic tension, great wings fully spread, bow drawn and arrow aimed at the sky above. Photographed from a low angle, this piece communicates scale and intent before it is ever seen in person.
This sculpture is produced using the lost-wax casting method, a technique that preserves every anatomical detail of the figure from the flex of the drawing arm to the individual feathers across the wingspan. The result is solid cast bronze of demonstrable density, here weighing 800 kilograms, a figure that gives some measure of the material presence this piece commands in any setting. The surface carries a deep, consistent dark brown to near-black patina; weathered and unpolished, it absorbs light rather than reflecting it, lending the figure gravitas rather than ornament. Over time and exposure, the patina will continue to develop its own character.
At 280 centimetres, this is a piece that defines space rather than occupying it. It suits an open courtyard, a formal garden axis, a grand atrium, or a civic setting where vertical scale is both appropriate and intended. The dark tonal finish reads well against pale stone, open sky, mature planting, and contemporary architectural backdrops in equal measure. Placement indoors or outdoors is equally viable; bronze at this scale weathers with dignity.
We offer a range of patina finishes across the classical spectrum, from the deep near-black shown here to warmer mid-browns, verde antique green, and natural weathered effects. Scale adjustments are available; if you are working to a specific site dimension, contact us before ordering and we will confirm feasibility. This figure has also been commissioned in the past with inspiration drawn from the work of artists working in the classical and neoclassical figurative tradition, and bespoke interpretations of the pose or composition can be discussed directly with our studio team.
