The Monumental Classical Atlas Kneeling with Globe and Lion Bronze Sculpture stands at an imposing 350cm, presenting the ancient Titan in full muscular strain beneath the weight of the celestial sphere, a lion pressed close at his side in a composition of extraordinary classical authority.
Every surface of this piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax process, which captures the fine anatomical detail of the figure's musculature, the texture of the draped lion skin across his body, and the mane and form of the companion lion with equal precision. The fully oxidised verdigris patina is applied by hand across figure, globe, and lion alike, producing the deep, uniform green tone of genuinely aged bronze. This is not a decorative wash but a chemically stabilised finish consistent with centuries of outdoor weathering, lending the piece an immediate sense of history and permanence. The result is a museum-grade bronze sculpture of monumental scale, finished to gallery standards throughout.
At 350cm, this sculpture commands significant architectural space. It suits grand estate entrances, formal walled gardens, civic plazas, hotel forecourts, and large interior atria with adequate ceiling height. The verdigris finish integrates naturally against stone facades, clipped hedging, and pale limestone paving, and holds equal presence against polished marble floors or raw concrete interiors. Supplied on a tall rectangular stone plinth integral to the composition, the piece arrives as a complete installation-ready work.
The verdigris patina shown is our recommended finish for this composition, though we can produce the piece in a warm natural bronze, a dark brown antiqued tone, or a polished highlight finish on request. Scale adjustments and custom plinth specifications are available for bespoke commissions. If you have a specific site, ceiling height, or architectural context in mind, contact us before ordering so we can advise on the most suitable configuration.
