Monumental Classical Armoured Knight and Dragon Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, 450cm, knight on rearing horse spearing a coiled dragon, dark patina.
Monumental Classical Armoured Knight and Dragon Bronze Sculpture - 450cm $172,52400
Description

The Monumental Classical Armoured Knight and Dragon Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 450cm, presenting one of history's most celebrated chivalric tableaux at truly architectural scale: a fully armoured knight driving his lance into a writhing, winged dragon as his warhorse rears with theatrical force beneath him.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, every element of this composition rewards close inspection. The knight's plate armour carries individual surface reliefs across each pauldron, gauntlet and greave; the horse's bridle and decorative saddle tack are rendered with the precision of an armourer's drawing; and the dragon's scaled body, spread wings and coiled tail read with the same intensity of craft as the figures above. A deep brown-black patina is applied by hand after casting, building a consistent, time-worn tone across the entire surface that anchors the piece in the classical tradition of monumental bronze figural sculpture. The broad multi-tiered stone plinth provides a pale grey counterpoint that separates the dark bronze forms cleanly against any backdrop.

At 450cm, this sculpture is scaled for grand civic and architectural settings: formal entrance courts, estate drives, museum forecourts, cathedral gardens and major hotel lobbies. The dark patina sits with equal composure against dressed stone, pale render, aged brick and mature landscaping. Its placement suitability spans both interior atria and exterior environments, as cast bronze weathers gracefully and requires only periodic waxing outdoors.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We offer a full range of patina finishes including warm golden brown, verdigris, and polished highlights; the piece can also be reproduced at a reduced scale to suit courtyard or gallery settings. For clients inspired by the work of Sculptor Pierluigi Pugliese, the composition can be further personalised in consultation with our studio. Please contact us before ordering so we can confirm specification, site requirements and timeline together.
