The Life-Size Trotting Horse Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 190cm, capturing a powerful horse mid-stride with left foreleg and right hindleg raised, head alert and turned slightly outward, mane and tail caught in the energy of forward movement.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, every surface of this life-size bronze horse statue is finished entirely by hand. The musculature is rendered with anatomical precision: shoulder blades, hindquarter definition, and the fine texture of the coat are all resolved in the casting before hand-chasing refines each detail further. The surface carries a rich dark brown patina with subtle reddish warmth across the raised muscle groups, giving the piece depth and visual movement that shifts with changing light. This finish is typical of the finest traditional equestrian bronze sculpture, where patina is not applied uniformly but built up to follow the form beneath it. The piece is mounted on a large rough-hewn granite block plinth with an irregular natural stone surface and a small engraved plaque on the front face, grounding the sculpture with a monumental, commemorative presence.
At this scale and weight, the sculpture is equally suited to grand interior spaces and exterior settings. It reads superbly against stone courtyards, formal garden axes, estate entrances, and architectural forecourts. Indoors, it commands a double-height atrium, a gallery hall, or a country house reception room. The dark bronze tones sit well alongside warm stone, pale render, dark timber, and clipped formal planting.
We offer the full range of patina options including verdigris, light brown, black, and natural weathered finishes. The sculpture can be produced at alternative scales to suit your space, and the plinth can be specified in different stone types or with bespoke inscription text. If you have a specific setting or requirement in mind, contact us before ordering so we can advise on the most appropriate specification for your project.
