The Life-Size Traditional Polo Player and Horse Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 400cm, capturing the explosive energy of a full-gallop strike: horse front legs raised, rider leaning forward with mallet arcing high above in the instant before impact.
This sculpture is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, a process that preserves every precise detail from the horse's extended tail and tack to the rider's jodhpurs, boots, and cap. The surface carries a rich warm brown patina with reddish-brown midtones deepening to darker shading in the recessed areas of mane, saddle, and fabric folds. Each pour is finished by hand, ensuring no two casts are identical. The result is a monumental bronze equestrian sculpture with the tonal depth and material weight that only hand-applied patination can achieve.
At 400cm tall and 1,500kg, this piece commands serious architectural space. It is equally suited to the forecourt of a private estate, a hotel entrance, a sporting club, or a grand atrium interior. The warm bronze tones read well against stone facades, pale render, and clipped formal hedging alike. The low rectangular plinth in natural grey stone grounds the composition and provides a visual base suited to both landscaped and hard-paved settings.
We offer a range of patina finishes including classic warm brown, verdigris, aged black, and polished golden bronze. Scale modifications and fully bespoke commissions based on specific reference imagery are welcomed. If you are considering a commission inspired by the work of a particular sporting or equestrian artist, contact us before ordering to discuss scope and timeline.
