Description

A commanding two-figure group cast in lost-wax bronze, this life-size composition presents a muscular nude male figure leading a mid-stride horse across a flat rectangular base. Standing at 200cm, the work carries the composed authority of classical Greco-Roman statuary: the man's anatomy rendered with anatomical precision, the horse alive with detailed mane, fitted bridle, and one foreleg raised in measured movement. A uniform verdigris green patina settles across both figures, the surface deepening to brown-bronze in the recessed musculature and mane, the natural result of oxidation applied by hand and allowed to mature.

Cast Bronze, Lost-Wax Process

Each figure is produced through the traditional lost-wax casting method, in which a hand-sculpted wax model is encased in ceramic shell, burned out, and replaced with molten bronze poured at over 1,000 degrees Celsius. The result is a dense, structurally sound casting that carries every detail of the original sculpture. At 450kg across the group, the weight of the bronze is itself a measure of quality. Hand-chasing after casting sharpens the surface detail before the patina is applied and sealed.

At 200cm and 450kg, this sculpture is specified for permanent outdoor installation. All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
