Description

A life-size classical bronze mare and foal, standing together at 130cm, the larger mare's head lowered in a quiet gesture of maternal attention toward the smaller foal pressed close at her side. The composition is unhurried and deeply naturalistic, capturing the particular stillness of a horse at rest rather than in motion. Dark black patina envelops the full forms, with green verdigris working naturally up from the hooves and lower legs to suggest age and permanence.

Hot-Cast Bronze with Aged Patina Finish

This sculpture is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, which allows the anatomical precision of the musculature, the fine detailing of the facial structure, and the surface texture of the coat to transfer faithfully into bronze. Each piece is hand-finished by our studio craftspeople, with the dark patina and verdigris applied by hand to achieve the depth of tone seen here. The result is a surface that reads as genuinely aged rather than artificially treated.

Fitted with metal stabilising pins cast through the hooves, this two-piece sculpture is designed for permanent outdoor installation. It suits open lawns, formal garden axes, stable yards, estate entrances, and any outdoor setting where scale and gravitas are required. At 250kg across the pair, a prepared base or compacted substrate is recommended prior to installation.

Production Time

Every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of destination.

  • Sculptures under 50cm — shipped by air freight. Typical delivery 1–2 weeks after production is complete.
  • Sculptures 50cm and above — shipped by sea freight. Typical delivery 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

For larger sculptures where faster delivery is needed, air freight is available at additional cost — contact us before ordering for a quote.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

We accept 30-day returns on sculptures in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To start a return, contact us within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer's cost.

Bespoke and custom-commissioned pieces are non-refundable once production has started, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
