Life-Size Classical Mare and Foal Bronze Sculpture from Giant Sculptures, dark patinated mare and foal in profile on rectangular plinths against a plain background.
Life-Size Classical Mare and Foal Bronze Sculpture (Foal Companion) - 160cm $102,43400
Description

A monument to the bond between mare and foal, this life-size classical bronze sculpture stands at 160cm and captures two horses in a naturalistic, relaxed profile stance on a shared stepped rectangular plinth. The adult mare stands protectively behind the foal, both facing right in a composition that reads as quietly intimate at any distance. Dark patinated bronze draws the eye across finely modelled musculature, textured manes, and softly weighted tails rendered with exceptional anatomical precision.

This piece is the foal companion designed to pair with our Life-Size Classical Mare and Foal Bronze Sculpture - 180cm, sold separately.

Cast Bronze, Built for Permanence

Each figure is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, a process that preserves every surface detail from the original sculpted model through to the finished bronze. Hand-chasing and finishing refine the musculature contours and mane texture after casting, while a layered dark patina is applied by hand, building depth across the surface. Polished highlights on the shoulder and haunch planes catch natural light and emphasise the sculptural volume of both figures. At 450kg, this is a serious structural commission in cast bronze built to endure decades of outdoor exposure.

The piece is designed for outdoor placement: an estate lawn, stable courtyard, stud farm entrance, or formal garden setting. The low-profile shared plinth integrates cleanly into hard landscaping or grass surrounds without requiring an additional pedestal.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

Patina finish, scale, and base configuration can all be adjusted to suit your site. We also accept fully bespoke commissions for private estates and public installations. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
