The Large Traditional Rearing Stag Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 260cm, capturing a mature stag mid-bugle with forelegs raised, head thrown back, and body coiled in a moment of raw territorial power. The scale is monumental; the presence is unmistakable.
Produced using the lost-wax casting method, every surface of this large bronze stag sculpture is worked by hand before and after casting. The dark brown to near-black patina is applied in controlled stages, deepening across the textured fur of the neck and shoulders and settling into the musculature of the haunches to reinforce anatomical depth. Antler tines, the curve of the ribcage, the tension in the raised forelegs: each element is individually chased and finished to preserve the naturalistic detail that separates a hand-cast bronze from a mechanical reproduction. The integral rocky outcrop base is cast as a single unit with the figure, sharing the same dark patina and lending the composition a sense of grounded, wild landscape without requiring a separate plinth.
At 260cm, this monumental bronze deer statue is suited to entrance halls with double-height ceilings, formal reception spaces, grand outdoor terraces, estate grounds, and commercial foyers. The dark patina reads strongly against pale stone, rendered render, and aged brick alike. Outdoors, bronze weathers gracefully over time, developing a natural verdigris that can be maintained or left to evolve. The piece requires a level surface capable of supporting 450kg; we recommend a structural engineer assessment for suspended or indoor floors prior to installation.
We offer the full range of bronze patina options including classic mid-brown, verde green, golden ochre, and this signature near-black finish. Scale adjustments are available, and fully bespoke commissions, including custom poses, base configurations, or compositions inspired by the work of specific sculptors, are welcomed. Please contact us before ordering to discuss specification, site requirements, or any customisation.
