The Large Contemporary Fragmentary Warrior Torso Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 200cm, presenting a headless and armless male torso angled slightly forward, its surface scored with deep linear incisions that suggest both ancient armour and deliberate deconstruction. Against the left flank, a large circular shield carries an embossed warrior figure in relief, the detail crisp against the warm brown-green patina of the surrounding bronze.
This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, which preserves the precision of every incised line and the raised relief of the shield's warrior figure. The hand-finished bronze surface carries a warm brown-green patina deepened with aged oxidation accents, giving the torso the presence of an archaeological fragment recovered and monumentalised. The result is a large bronze torso sculpture with genuine tactile and visual weight, every surface transition deliberate and considered.
The dark rectangular granite plinth grounds the composition, providing a low-profile base that allows the fragmented form to read as complete in its incompleteness. The piece suits stone-floored entrance halls, double-height lobbies, and contemporary gallery spaces equally well; outdoors, it holds its own against open sky, landscaped gardens, or architectural stone settings. The neutral bronze and black palette integrates with both warm and cool interior schemes.
We offer a range of patina finishes beyond the standard brown-green, including dark espresso, verdigris, and polished warm gold. The torso can be scaled up or down for specific architectural contexts. If you are interested in a commission inspired by the work of Igor Mitoraj or a bespoke variation on the fragmentary figure theme, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss specifications and confirm lead times.
