The Large Classical Kneeling Angel Bronze Sculpture stands 150cm tall, presenting a solitary winged figure collapsed forward in grief or prayer, head resting on folded arms against a rough-hewn stone bench. The composition is still and weighty, the silence of the pose amplified by the scale.
Every detail of this piece begins with a wax model, refined by hand before the traditional lost-wax casting process translates it into solid bronze. The resulting surface carries fine texture throughout: the layered fall of the robes, the feather structure of the large arched wings, and the rough stone character of the integral bench beneath. A deep antique verdigris patina has been applied and worked by hand, producing the green-blue weathered finish visible across the figure. It reads as aged, as though it has stood in a garden or chapel for generations. The patina is sealed on completion but will continue to develop naturally in outdoor conditions, deepening over time.
At 150cm and 70kg, this is a piece that commands space. It suits formal garden settings, stone-flagged terraces, mausoleum or memorial gardens, and large interior spaces including entrance halls, galleries, and religious buildings. The neutral bronze and stone palette works against pale limestone, dark slate, aged brick, or clipped hedging. The mourning pose carries emotional weight that benefits from room to breathe around it; avoid placing it in crowded or cluttered arrangements.
The default finish is the antique verdigris shown. Alternative patinas are available, including dark brown wax, mid-tone natural bronze, and blackened finishes. The piece can be scaled up or down to suit a specific site. For collectors interested in a commission inspired by the work of classical memorial sculptors working in the European tradition, our studio team will advise on feasibility. Contact us before ordering if you have specific requirements.
